Education's More Fun at Chuuk High School

Students enjoy education with Church donated laptops, sewing machines, and sports equipment

The borders of the Federated States of Micronesia continue to be closed to travel. This has not hindered The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from giving aid to the islands. Due to border closures, funds are short, The Church's donation of laptops, sewing machines, and sports equipment goes a long way to aid the school in educating their students with the latest technology and assist them to stay fit.

Last December, the Chuuk High School principal, Jason Reiong, contacted Elder William HK Davis at The Church's Welfare and Self-reliance Department in Micronesia Guam requesting assistance to get the necessary tools and equipment to help the students succeed in their education. The Church arranged to ship this equipment by DHL and it was delivered.

Now that Chuuk High School has received this donation, the Church followed up with how this donation is being used and the benefits the students are gaining from it.

Laptops aid learning and an efficient storage cabinet charge and securely stores the laptops when not in use. The students seem enthusiastic about their new supplies.

It’s heartwarming to see photos of the student’s excitement and big smiles. The Church Welfare department smiles as well to see how it is benefiting so many youths to be physically fit and educated in these various vocational areas.

Thanks to many Church members through tithes and offerings the Church can make a significant difference in the lives of many students and families. Chuuk is just one example of how these donations bless lives and make a difference in the world.
