Two diligent missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving on the island of Udot, in the Micronesia state of Chuuk, are seeing miraculous progress among the young people there. In January 2025 Elder Wyatt Ranker, from Colorado, USA, and Elder Nick Tu’Akoi from Utah, USA, baptized seven youth, ages 8 through 16.

The following week, 4 of the young men were ordained deacons in the Aaronic Priesthood.  Those newly ordained young men now pass the sacrament in the Udot Branch every week.

The tireless labors of Elder Tu’Akoi and Elder Ranker among the people on this island have won the respect of many. The mothers of some of these boys have started attending church and some are being taught by these same missionaries. Many of the younger siblings have likewise started attending church with their older brothers.

When asked about the secret to their success in bringing these youth unto Christ, Elder Ranker and Elder Tu’Akoi said, “We just love them.”
