The Okkodo High School in Dededo, Guam, home of the Bulldogs, received a printer/copier machine in the F wing of their campus donated to them by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dale West, an employee of the Church, after an office consolidation event, ended up with a surplus printer. The Church decided that the best use of this equipment would be to donate it to a worthy cause.
As fate would have it, while speaking with a staff member of the school, Brother West soon learned that they had a need for a printer/copier in their teacher's wing. Teachers are inconvenienced by having to trek clear across campus just to use a copier or printer and it would be much more convenient to have one nearby. A match was made, and a need fulfilled! Arrangements were made for its delivery.
This Xerox model 7840 multifunction printer, copier, scanner, and fax with four paper trays needed to be loaded onto a truck. With the help of Dale West, Elder William HK Davis and Elder Green, this large mass of metal was lifted into the Church's Service Center's truck bed. They soon realized that this was no simple feat, as it weighed nearly 300lbs. Once secured with tie-down straps, they were off to deliver it to its new home at the school.
The school’s new printer now sits in the F wing, centrally located to make life much easier and more efficient for the teachers. They don’t have to set foot out of their wing to print, copy or scan.
With this donation from the Church, the school was not only able to save money on the purchase of a new printer, but they were also able to increase the efficiency of their teachers.
What a win-win situation! The school received a high-quality printer, and the Church was able to bless the lives of the school through its humanitarian service.
And what’s more, it's not only a network printer, but even USB compatible!
