Mike and Della Dyck spent many years in the Sacramento, California area before moving to Provo, Utah where they have lived for the past nine years. They are the parents of six boys and have nineteen grandchildren! They love gardening and have always had a big garden. Della said that they find joy in raising their own food. She enjoys sewing and used to sew clothes for their children when they were younger. Her favorite hobby though is digging in the dirt in her garden!
Della was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom and was very active as a volunteer in the schools. She has served in all the auxiliaries in Primary and Relief Society. She worked a lot with the cub scout organization as well.
Mike worked in the computer industry since 1977. He had his own IT company for the past twelve years. He retired from there about two weeks before they left for their mission to the Micronesia Guam mission. He is a commercial drone pilot and loves it. He’s been flying drones now for several years. He is a member of the civil air patrol which is a member of the U.S. Airforce. This is a volunteer position, but he has become their regional representative for drone operation in the Rocky Mountain region. He thinks that when they return from this mission, he may return to flying drones. He has served as a bishop and Elder’s quorum president. One of their favorite callings was being called as a branch president and companion at the MTC (mission training center) in Provo, Utah. Because of that experience in the MTC they said: "The Spirit was incredible and the missionaries were so wonderful. We knew that we wanted to be part of that again by serving a mission together!"
Mike and Della have been assigned to serve on the island of Yap for twenty-three months. They are looking forward to getting to know and work with the members as MLS (member leader support) missionaries on Yap.
