Elder Steve and Sister Madelyn Evans recently arrived in Guam to serve as mission office missionaries for the Micronesia Guam Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For 37 years they called the state of Washington home but moved to Indiana two months before leaving for Guam.
They are the parents of five children, all married, and eleven grandchildren aged 6 months to thirteen years. They consider time spent with family as one of their favorite hobbies along with riding dirt bikes and horses, gymnastics, and crochet.
Elder Evans served a mission earlier in life in Scotland and Ireland. This mission together is their first but mentioned that many of their Church callings have been assigned as couples and they feel that this will help them in serving here.
Their favorite callings were serving in the Portland Oregon Temple and many different youth both ward and stake callings with the youth.
They were also able to house the young missionaries in their home for a couple of years and decided then that when they served their mission, they would want to be in the office where they would be able to love, serve, and work closely with the young missionaries.
The time they have been here has been enjoyable because of the great people that have come into their lives.
