Elder Robert Craig and Debby Shakespeare are the newest Military Relations missionaries in the Micronesia Guam Mission! They arrived in Guam on May 28, 2024 tired, but ready to serve.

They were both born in Provo Utah and met each other in high school.  As a young missionary, Bob served a mission in the England London Mission which helped to strengthen his testimony as he taught and served the people there.

Upon returning from his mission, he and Debby were married.  Elder Shakespeare joined the military and became a dentist.  He spent his career in the Army as a dentist as he realized the extreme need for dental care among fellow soldiers.  After forty years in the military, he retired as a Colonel.

After retirement, he and Debby served as military relation missionaries in the Italy Rome Mission and were assigned to Sigonella Naval Air Station on Sicily.  Part of their mission was during COVID which made it an extra difficult experience.  They felt like they grew a lot in the gospel on this mission and found joy volunteering with the USO and Red Cross.

Bob was called to serve on a service mission as an area dental advisor for sixteen different missions throughout Europe and Eastern Europe for two years following their mission in Italy.

In May of 2024, they received a call once again as military relations missionaries in Micronesia Guam.

They said: “We loved serving in the military and have tender feelings toward military service members and their families.  We consider it an honor and a blessing to be called to serve the Lord by gathering Israel among military members all over the world.”

Throughout their life they have lived in seven countries, ten states and have traveled to numerous countries throughout the world.  They are excited to now be able to serve in Guam.

They added: “We have an abiding testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the restoration of the Savior’s Gospel.  We consider it a privilege to serve the Lord in this part of His Kingdom.”
