On November 16th, young single adults from across Micronesia donned trademark yellow vests of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints humanitarian teams and cheerfully pitched in to fill approximately 150 dry bags with essential items for residents of the Village of Humatak on Guam. The activity was part of the 2024 Young Single Adult (YSA) Conference held in Guam November 14-18th.
The dry bags and their contents were financed by humanitarian funds from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bags included various hygiene and emergency items as well as school supplies.
Representatives from the Humatak office of Mayor Johnny A. Quinata came to the Barrigada Building where the service activity was held and accepted the donation.

“We have many in our small community who are in need, and will be greatly blessed by this donation,” explained Diana Quinata from the mayor’s office. “Thank-you so much for your help!” Also representing the mayor’s office was Raquel Diane Ashment, who volunteers at the mayor’s office and is a member of the Santa Rita Ward.
Senior missionary couple Elder Berkley Price and Sister Erica Price organized the filling and packing of the dry bags under the direction of Jason and Cindy Martin, YSA Conference Directors. Approximately 150 dry bags were completed and donated.
The service activity was a great opportunity for the disciples of Christ who attended the conference to actively follow the Savior’s admonition to love God by showing love to our neighbors.
