Elder Andersen presents his book to the saints in Asia North

In late 2022, Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles visited the Asia North Area where he talked about the growth of the Church and how the gospel would be taken to every part of the world.  He said, “The Lord wants the gospel to be in every community to be a light to others so that those who truly seek the restored gospel can find it.”  In our efforts to help missionary work, sharing the gospel can be weaved into our daily lives in a normal and natural way. 

As we study the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ this year, our Area Presidency has encouraged members to learn more about Christ, to strengthen their faith in Him, and to help others discover and understand more about Christ’s life.  In 2022, President Nelson echoed this sentiment when he said, “Brothers and sisters, the gospel of Jesus Christ has never been needed more than it is today.”   

Elder Andersen wrote Jesus is The Christ in 2023, and introduced this book to the local Asia North leaders.  This book can be a resource to help those who are not Christian to expand their basic understanding of Jesus Christ.  Elder Andersen’s book is an invitation for all people across the world to come to know Jesus Christ as he provides an overview of the Lord’s life and ministry and bears testimony of His Atonement and Resurrection.   

The Asia North Presidency would like every member to read and use this book.  They shared the following statement:    

“Please accept Jesus is the Christ as a gift from Elder Andersen and the Asia North Area Presidency.  We are grateful for the powerful words found in this book.  Perhaps no other people in the world need the Savior’s words more than those in our area, where so many have never heard His teachings.  As we ponder these words, may we begin to formulate ideas for us to share in simple ways the joyful message and mission of the Savior Jesus Christ to our friends and family.”

As you read this book, there are several suggested ways in which you can use the book: 

• Use as a gift to new members or ministering with less active members. 
• Share with friends who are interested in Jesus Christ. 
• Coordinate with missionaries to share when teaching about the doctrine of Jesus Christ. 
• Read as a family at home. 

Utilizing this book can be an instrument in helping many who do not know Jesus Christ.  As members seek to be true disciples of Christ, they can share the joy and happiness of following Jesus Christ in their lives.   

Over the next two weeks, expect to see Bishops and Presidents distributing this book at church meetings.
