Following a meeting on January 15, 2026, between Surangel S. Whipps Jr., President of Palau, and Christopher H. Kim of the Asia North Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, discussions began on ways community partners could work together to support local education. As part of that effort, leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist schools in Palau identified a pressing need for updated technology and educational equipment to better serve their students.
That shared vision led to a humanitarian partnership between The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Seventh-day Adventist schools of Palau. Through the collaboration, Palau SDA Elementary School and Palau Mission Academy received technology, educational supplies, and learning resources designed to strengthen classroom instruction and better prepare students for an increasingly digital world.
Together, the two schools serve approximately 373 students, many of whom depend on school resources for research, learning, and skill development. Recognizing the growing importance of technology in education, school leaders sought to provide students with tools that would help them succeed in higher education, employment, and lifelong learning.

The assistance included upgraded computers, science laboratory equipment, instructional materials, and musical instruments that have enriched both academic and extracurricular programs. These resources are expanding opportunities for hands-on learning, fostering creativity and critical thinking, and helping students develop the knowledge and skills needed for future success.
School leaders expressed gratitude for the partnership and for the opportunities it continues to create for students. Margie Mae Pomoy Magro, principal of the Palau Seventh-day Adventist schools, highlighted the positive difference the donated resources have already made.

“The science laboratory equipment and chemicals definitely enhanced our science curriculum, allowing our students to engage in hands-on experiments and deeper discovery. Meanwhile, the cellos and guitars have enriched our music programs, providing our students and missionaries with wonderful opportunities to serve God through music.”
As students conduct research on updated computers, explore scientific concepts through hands-on learning, and develop their talents through music and education, the true value of this project becomes clear. Its lasting impact will not be measured solely by the resources provided, but by the opportunities created, the knowledge gained, and the brighter future being built for the rising generation of Palau.
