BYU Vocal Point and Noteworthy are coming to Asia North Area to perform and serve. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, their friends, and other community members are looking forward with great anticipation to the May 2024 concert tour in South Korea, Mongolia, and Japan.

The renowned a cappella groups from Brigham Young University (BYU), in Provo, Utah (USA) will begin the tour in South Korea, with concerts scheduled in Changwon (5/1 Gyeongnam MBC Hall), Cheongju (5/2 Cheongju Art Hall), and Seoul (5/4 KBS Hall). The groups will make a brief stop in Mongolia, presenting two concerts on May 7 in Ulaanbaatar (Convention Center Concert Hall). The tour will continue to Japan, beginning with a concert in Tokyo (5/10 Aprico Hall), followed by concerts in Osaka (5/11 Osaka City Center Public Hall), Hiroshima (5/13 Aster Hall), and Fukuoka (5/14 Namiki Square).

Although they have traditionally performed separately, the area is privileged to have both Vocal Point and Noteworthy a cappella groups performing at each concert. With over 1.9 million listeners, the Emmy Award-winning men’s group, Vocal Point, has produced more than 30 music videos. Noteworthy is one of only two all-female groups to win the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella award. Their “Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)” music video has gone viral, with over 66 million views. Combining the two groups together promises to make the concert tour an event not-to-be missed.

In January, Shane Wright, the director of Performing Arts Management (PAM) for BYU, traveled to the Asia North Area to preview each of the venues. Wright has been with PAM since 2001. He has trained students and staff, managed tours, created marketing materials, and worked with high-level VIPs throughout the United States and internationally. In that time, he has booked thousands of concerts all around the world. Shane Wright is excited to bring the BYU performers to share their talents with the Asia North Area.

Watch in coming weeks for more concert information and opportunities for purchasing tickets.
