On Sunday, December 1st volunteers from the University of Guam’s Health Services Global Learning and Engagement program along with Todu Guam Foundation conducted a free health screening clinic at the Barrigada Stake Center.

The clinic followed a special Chuukese testimony meeting. Many of the Chuukese Saints took advantage of the service, although the clinic was open to everyone in need of basic healthcare screening.

“Often when people from Micronesia’s many small islands move to Guam, they lack the resources to obtain necessary health services,” explained President Fredivic Nicerio of the Barrigada Stake. “Having this clinic on Sunday directly following church meetings allows members who need these important services to obtain them more conveniently.”

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has partnered with and supported the Todu Guam Foundation in providing mobile services for those who are unable to obtain adequate healthcare.

The University of Guam’s outreach program is funded by the Center for Disease Control through a Health Disparities Grant to the University of Guam.
