Beginning in late November this year, Latter-day Saints from the islands of Micronesia to the mountains of Mongolia cheerfully participated in the Light the World effort to share their love of Jesus Christ through simple acts of love and kindness. Following are just a few of the activities that helped light the Asia North area during the Christmas season!

This was a great opportunity for the Church to Light the World for many of the residents of the remote islands of Micronesia. Barrigada Guam Stake members contributed to the drop as they donated toys and other items using collection boxes located in meeting houses on Guam. Missionaries and members worked together to purchase and fill five of the 209 bundles that were eventually dropped by parachute onto the outlying islands of Micronesia.

Okinawa Stake promotes the true spirit of Christmas through Radio Okinawa
Since October 2022, the Okinawa Stake has been showcasing Church-themed programming such as family history, self-reliance messages, and BYU education opportunities on a well-known local radio show called “Connect with You!” on Radio Okinawa. In December as a part of Light the World campaign, the church emphasized in the programming the true meaning of Christmas. The stake produced flyers with QR codes to advertise the radio show, channeling people not only to the radio station’s social media account, but also to the Church’s Light the World landing page and also Church social media accounts. The Stake also joined Radio Okinawa’s charity efforts, where many in the radio audience came to the Okinawa Ward Building to make donations to charity programs.
