October 19, 2024 was a remarkable day for Brother Nicholaus Mony as he completed proxy initiatory, endowment, and sealing ordinances. Prior to his visit, Brother Brett and Sister Rachelle Child had been assisting him with his family history work, successfully locating the records for his parents and eight deceased siblings.
Miraculously, these names were ready for temple ordinances just one day before his scheduled visit. The effort to assist Brother Mony was truly a collective effort by the Barrigada Ward members. The baptism and confirmation for his parents had already been completed before his arrival, with Sister Anap, Brother Mony’s granddaughter, serving as proxy for the female names.
Brother Daniel Reber played a key role in transporting Brother Mony from his home to the temple, where he arrived on a gurney due to his physical condition. Despite this, the temple workers managed his needs with great care, ensuring he was able to participate fully in the sacred ordinances.
Brother Mony had the privilege of standing as proxy for his father during the initiatory and endowment ordinances and later served as proxy for the sealing of his parents. He was also sealed to his parents along with his eight deceased siblings, making this the largest family sealing performed at the Yigo Guam Temple.
At one point, a male proxy was needed for one of Brother Mony's brothers, but all available men had already left the temple. Brother Reber reassured Brother Mony by reminding him of Elder Henry Savstrom’s promise: “There will be a miracle this year.”
Despite the uncertainty, they waited in faith. Soon after, Brother James Ueno unexpectedly returned to the temple, unaware of the need. He willingly stepped in as the proxy, allowing the ordinance to be completed. It was a moment of profound significance, and Brother Mony’s family was finally sealed together. Indeed, the temple experience was a miracle and a great blessing for Brother Mony and his family.
